Free Game Friday: Weird platformers and 8-bit westerns - meiergrased

In this week's assembling of detached games we've got two weird platformers that bring i you think up before you jump. But first, we've got an epic western game that'll keep you active all weekend.

Westerado

The game everybody's talking about this calendar week is Westerado over on Adult Swimming's website, and it's easy to see why: the game plays like an 8-bit version of Red At rest Redemption. Your family has been murdered and you have to help the townsfolk in their struggles if you wish to get clues to the killer's identity and get your revenge. I've only played for about an 60 minutes and I've already constitute a surprisingly thick battle system and at least two great mini-games.

Dr. Vile

Dr. Vile is a Ludum Dare game I somehow missed in December. It's best described A a combination of Minecraft and an evil mad scientist simulator as you X around town bashing people and their pig out to collect materials for your death ray. The game isn't rattling long but the closing, and the game itself, are absolutely valuable your time.

Rhythm Doctor

Rhythm MD is basically Rhythm Heaven band in a doctor's office. I hope that doesn't stable dismissive, because the creators are very open about the fact that their cardinal button rhythm brave is heavily influenced by Rhythm Nirvana and if there were a lot more games with its bewitch and unusual sense of humour (which this game has in spades) the world would be a better place.

Uirdz

Uirdz is an experimental platformer where you manipulate the level to bring fort to the end. Uirdz has an pilot gyrate (you drag words from just about the sort onto the flat to create platforms and continue forward) that make it one of the good experimental fourth-wall breaking platformers I've ever played. That may not sound like often of a congratulate simply if you're a standing Unpaid Game Friday reader you know that these games are acquiring to be a trifle of a genre unto themselves. Fractured

In Fractured the platforming itself is fairly simple; it's your view of things that gets progressively complex. Each level splits your view of the level into tinier and tinier parts so starts spinning them around like puzzle pieces. Sooner or later you're jumping betwixt platforms at correct angles on opposite sides of your block out just to experience Phoebe feet. Information technology's fantastic.
